Angelis, the discarded figurehead of a revolution hears news that his long-lost siblings may still be alive, and he sets out on a journey to find them through a wild post-apocalyptic Appalachian landscape.
A coming-of-age young adult graphic novel for lovers of “The Hunger Games”, Tillie Walden’s “Clementine”, and Jen Wang’s “Ash’s Cabin”.
Life as we know it is destroyed, for better or worse.
The rebellion’s fight is finally won against the oppressive medical corporation, PANACEA. Angelis has spent 2243 days underground in the rebels’ bunker base. But, of course, he shouldn’t complain. Being the symbol of the revolution is better than living and dying in PANACEA’s labs. Now the war is over, all he wants is to find his siblings, who he lost track of when fate landed him in the rebels’ hands.
When he discovers the rebels have been withholding news of their possible whereabouts, he abandons the safety of the bunker for the terrifying, beautiful wilderness. There, he encounters feisty fourteen-year-old Wyn, on a parallel mission of finding her brother and sister.
Together, they explore a world both cruel and filled with wonders, discover the fate of their siblings, and question the truths they’ve always believed about the revolution and what led to it.
